Debbie joined the Virginia Jobs Investment Program of the Virginia Department of Business Assistance (VDBA) in August 2003, where she works with new and expanding companies throughout the Commonwealth to assist with their recruiting and training efforts. The Virginia Jobs Investment Program is an economic development incentive that focuses on reducing companies' human resource costs by assisting with their recruiting and training needs. Debbie also conducts organizational development training for qualifying businesses. She primarily serves the Shenandoah Valley, Roanoke, New River Valley & Charlottesville regions. Prior to joining the Virginia Jobs Investment Program team, she served as VDBA’s Director of Marketing and Events for five years.
The Virginia Department of Business Assistance is the state agency devoted solely to the growth and success of business and industry throughout Virginia. VDBA’s mission is to promote economic growth by helping Virginia businesses prosper. VDBA provides access to capital, small business counseling, workforce development assistance, and pro-active business problem solving.
Debbie is on the board of directors of the Virginia Economic Developers Association. She received a B.A. in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia and a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from Virginia Commonwealth University.
